This is a very honest message from my heart, expressing my deepest gratitude. I feel very lucky to have been bestowed with a great professor, Prof. G. S. Randhawa, while pursuing my B.Tech. (Biotechnology) degree from 'Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee'. He was the major person who led to the introduction of B.Tech. program in Biotechnology field in IIT Roorkee. He played his role very well as the Godfather for B.Tech. students as he consistently organized and invited students for informal meetings and motivational lectures from our first year and that's how I got acquainted with him, my mentor, Prof. G.S. Randhawa. His very kind figure and motivation inspired me to stay my first summer vacations at IITR to do a project under his guidance which enhanced my interest in Biotechnology field. Again, I worked during my 2nd year's summer on a molecular genetics project under his guidance to improve my lab skills and he also supported me to take projects in other labs to have a wider lab skill sets. He has been a great teacher of Genetics and Genetic Engineering and learnings from his courses were greatly helpful in my future. I utilized the experience from the projects and his guidance to the fullest when I got an opportunity at the end of my 3rd year for doing my summer internship at 'Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary' affiliated to 'Harvard Medical School', Boston, USA. After my graduation, I joined the same lab in Boston and I am still using the treasure of knowledge and experience from this great person. He has always been motivating all the students to find their hidden potentials, making biotechnology a very interesting subject and giving exposure to illustrate the true value of this branch. Not only he has been a guide who showers passion for research, but also he is a great human who finds greatest pleasure in guiding students about life values, spirituality, solving their personal problems and making strongest bonds with them as a true friend. I have greatest regards for him and I pray that students take as much benefit as they can from his esteemed guidance.
